What Women Find Attractive In Men

Women are sometimes hard to figure out. Remember the Mel Gibson movie, What Women Want? You know, I can't read my wife's mind, nor do I care to. I know it's better that way.

So what do women want? I suggest that we'll never know for sure, especially when you're trying to figure out an individual woman. I think we're on our own on this one. (At least, we're all in the same boat, and there's safety in numbers.) Seriously, though, a little research can give us some pretty good insight on women from a broader perspective.

A search of the Internet shows some of the biggies women look for in guys are men who are self-confident, intelligent, possess a good sense of humor, respect women, display integrity, and make good eye contact.

Surprised?

If not, there was one attribute that women mentioned that might come as a surprise: a godly man. Yes, a godly man-one who lives his faith in word and deed.

Something to think about, isn't it?

What do you think?

Perhaps that not understanding is more about "The Two becoming One." It's not all that much about knowing who should carry the garbage out to the curb, but our ladies expect much more than that and are just like us....."How come it isn't done yet?" And We say 'What's not done? Is dinner ready yet!"

I have had two women in my life, the first for 47 years and the second now for three. They are as different as night and day. However, what is common is their wanting a man who has a strong Christian faith and lives it.

When I was first dating I was always pretty insecure about myself so I spent my whole time thinking about everything I was doing wrong. I found that turned off most of my girlfriends. But over time my faith and confidence in God got stronger and made me more secure and steady- and that made me more attractive to women- including the one who ended up marrying me!

Regarding marriage, a wise old sage once delivered unto me a single grain of truth that has (more times than I'd like to remember) made all the difference:

He asked me, "Do you want to be right or do you want to be happy?"

Against such impeccable logic, there is no argument. One can only smile and mutter the words, "be happy."

And so I am.

Oddly enough, taking this position seems to have a godly component to it because I argue (or should I say "debate") less with my spouse. What rebuttals I would have fired back to make my points in the past, I see in quick retrospect now, weren't worth the effort anyway.

This is not to say we never disagree, but there's less head butting ~ and for that I'm grateful.

I'll have to remember to thank that wise old sage the next time I see him.

Want to know what women want? Compassion. Thoughtfulness. And confidence in our faith. See the movie "Fireproof" and you'll know what I mean.
